Well, here’s some exciting news, folks.
This Wednesday, January 30th at 7pm, City Lights and the Feminist Press will be co-presenting a tribute to Pussy Riot, featuring performances and readings from (holy shit) Frightwig, Penelope Houston (Avengers), Debora Iyall (Romeo Void) and Michelle Tea (Sister Spit).
I personally can’t imagine a more awesome roster of people for a more awesome cause. I will most certainly be there.
ON TOP OF THAT, on Saturday (aka tomorrow) from 10-midnight, you can listen to my interview with Mia d’Bruzzi and Deanna Mitchell, founding members of Frightwig, on Ribbon Around a Bomb Radio at Radio Valencia. In fact, it will be a whole female-fronted SF-punk themed show, where you’ll hear not only hella Frightwig, but also Mary Monday, the Avengers, the Nuns, Noh Mercy, and more. I will of course post the podcast here when it’s done.
Is this the flyer above, with Pussy Riot, for the City Lights reading? If not, please send me one to post on my female punk and political punk blogs!!! Wish I could be there! leftofthedialmag@hotmail.com
Hey, unfortunately there is no flier for the event! Just a description on City Lights bookstore’s website. This image above is taken from the new book about Pussy Riot though. 🙂
Will we be posting the Frightwig interview show as a podcast anytime soon, perhaps?
I plan to post it today! Also, I know I already did a Dwight Howard one, but… Hashtag Dwightwig.
