Arts Bombast: Michelle Blade

Plans for the end of the world, yet? Oakland-based artist Michelle Blade (Oh God, I seriously just typed “Michelle Branch” on accident, then immediately deleted it like, “WTF was that?”) is coping/celebrating by creating one new painting every day this year that “is inspired by and pays tribute to the Apocalyptic prophecies surrounding 2012.”

Take a look the rest of the wonderfully eerie images HERE.
I love that the scope of the project itself (366 days of painting) reveals her disbelief in the 2012 Apocalypse, which is “scheduled” (for lack of a better word) to occur on December 21st. As if I wasn’t already excited for the end of the world, the creepy mysticism of these paintings has taken it to a new level. Bravo, Blade.
