San Francisco: Off!
You’re so lucky, SF. You have not one, but TWO opportunities to go see hardcore supergroup Off! this weekend.
One of those opportunities is at Slim’s: Friday, May 11 at 8pm
The other is at Amoeba Berkeley, meaning it’s free: Saturday, May 12 at 4pm.

With members Keith Morris (BF!) and Steven Shane McDonald (Redd Kross), I admit that this band ventures into “dudes bein’ dudes” territory, which can get old fast. But I have mad respect for these guys carrying the classic hardcore tradition and still sounding rad. Plus, their existence has generated more Ray Pettibon artwork, which no one (NO ONE, I tell you!) can complain about. I will definitely be attending at least one of the shows, although partly just to see Keith Morris’ hair.
