San Francisco: “Phantoms” Preview Party

If I had $12 instead of a date with Stephanie and Michael to watch some Twin Peaks tomorrow night, I’d be attending the Asian Art Museum‘s Phantoms of Asia Preview Party. I love that as a cultural art institution, the AAM manages to integrate contemporary collections and maintain that “cutting edge” factor. Plus any exhibition of art that explores “spirits, spirituality, the cosmos, and the afterlife” is clearly making it onto MY calendar.

There is seriously SO much that I’m excited about in this exhibition, but for now, I’ll offer works from young Filipino artist Poklong Anading‘s series “Anonymity.”

I’m excited to eventually check out the exhibition and report back! Oh, and if you weren’t convinced by the stunning works from Anading, clearly this “excellent” poster will push you over the edge:
