First of all, can I just say that Alexis Hunter is a HOT name? Secondly, New Zealand artist Alexis Hunter would most likely NOT be down with my vapid observation, given her involvement in the 1970s feminist art movement.
You see, that was a time was feminist art was simple and wonderful. It was blatantly political, never TOO conceptual, and very literally tied into feminist theory of the day. As in, themes of subverted domesticity, explorations of alternative sexuality, reclamations of the female body, and redirected (feminine!) perspectives in general. Plus some classic ’70s aesthetics. Clearly I dig this.
Alexis Hunter. Have at it.
