Sometimes I post about fashion. Namely when I find collections created by artists or musicians such as Kim Gordon, Courtney Love, or in this case, the inimitable Yoko Ono.
Somewhat surprisingly, the collection is for dudes. Entitled “Yoko Ono’s Fashions For Men 1969-2012,” the pieces are, uh, more than a little cheeky. Ono said: “I was inspired to create ‘Fashions for Men’ amazed at how my man was looking so great. I felt it was a pity if we could not make clothes emphasizing his very sexy bod. So, I made this whole series [of sketches] with love for his hot bod and gave it to him as a wedding present. You can imagine how he went wild and fell in love with me even more.” BEHOLD the weirdness, guys:
I’m pretty into the concept of creating a fashion line for men inspired on the sexy male “bod.” It’s something designers do ALL the time with women- cut-outs, revealing pieces, bold colors. Why not for men? Here are some of Ono’s original drawings from ’69 that she gave Lennon as a wedding present:
I’m ALL for those hands-pants in my life. On sale Dec. 9th in LA and London.
