Arts Bombast: Wayne White

Go ahead and EXALT, San Francisco: All weekend, Roxie Theater will be showing BEAUTY IS EMBARRASSING, a documentary about weirdo/artist Wayne White. I lovelovelove his repurposed thrift-store paintings, and even did a similar project myself inspired by White’s work.

The man is basically Ed Ruscha incarnate. Or maybe Barbara Kruger. Either way, I’m on board.

Oh, and I think he’s going to be present for some Q+A at some of the screenings this weekend…
