Noisegasm: Chalk Circle

Last night the husb surprised me with Chalk Circle’s insanelyfuckinggood LP “Reflection.”  It’s a collection of material from 1980-1983 by D.C.’s first all-female punk band.  They were friends with Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye, and the dudes from Bad Brains, but never received the same attention for their minimal / post-punk sound.  Originally, Mitch Parker of the hardcore punk band Government Issue wanted to be their drummer and call the band “Mitch and His Bitches.”  Obvs the girls weren’t down, and clearly they didn’t need him.
